About Us

Norvelt Elementary School is located in the small community of Norvelt, about five miles from Mount Pleasant. Both the school and community were named for Eleanor Roosevelt because of her extensive work in this area during the depression years. The building originally housed students in grades one through eight. Today it houses approximately 500 students in Kindergarten through Third Grade.

Norvelt Dismissal Procedures 2019-2020

With the consolidation of schools, more students will be entering Norvelt than we have had in recent years. An increase in students equals more buses and more students getting picked up after school. The increased volume of traffic at our school during dismissal has created a need to look at how we dismiss students from Norvelt. Many of our students and their parents are new to Norvelt as well and may not be familiar with dismissal procedures. Attached are the guidelines for dismissal at Norvelt. These are different than what has been in place, so please read carefully and become familiar with the new procedures. Click on the Norvelt Dismissal Procedures 2019-2020 headline to access the procedures document.

Email Spoofing and Phishing

The Mount Pleasant Area School District strives to protect our student, staff and parent/guardian data. A few emails have gone out appearing to be from someone within the district when they actually are not. We would like to take this opportunity to educate the public on typical Spoofing and Phishing emails.
